THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Farmers Markets are so much more than just places to buy fruits and vegetables. In addition to supporting small farms and artisans, boosting local economies, and providing fresh seasonal food, farmers markets offer a gathering place for diverse groups of neighbors to meet and mingle and create a new sense of community. We hope you experienced this at our market and we look forward to seeing all of you in May, 2015.
At the market this week: Lots of Greens—kale, turnips, collards, mustard, two kinds of beautiful lettuce. Our farmers will also have heirlooms tomatoes, butter beans, green beans, speckled butter peas, black-eyed peas, squash, cucumbers, okra, new potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, egg plants, peppers, zucchini, winter squash and the last of the corn for this year.
All of our vegetables are picked fresh the morning of the market.
DECORATE YOUR HOME WITH a beautiful fall arrangements of fresh cut flowers from Brosemer Farm as well as unusual and colorful pumpkins. Scott’s Apples are in and oh so good. Try their delicious apple cider, too. Also at the market you will find Wygya (Kobe) beef, local honey, fresh free range eggs, as well as homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, pies, cheese straws, homemade ice cream, jellies and jams, tea, goat cheese, Gluten free breads and cup cakes. Mary will be back with lots of delicious MSG-Free Seasoning Mixes. They make great tailgate dips. Carrie’s Kitchen will have: Pot roast with Potatoes and Carrots, Classic Pimento Cheese, Green Chili Cheese, and Tailgate Party Dip
THE CHILDREN WILL ENJOY THE MOON BOUNCE AND MISTING TENT.
The Boy Scouts are collecting newspapers, cardboard and plastic. Please bring us your recyclables to support Meals On Wheels.
